NDP VP Peterson - Homophobic?

UPDATE: Peterson has removed the reference to LeClerc in his post, along with a comment chastising him and his lame defence of the comment. Too little, too late...

Here's the latest from NDP VP Kent E. Peterson

"Bill 80 sucks. Serge LeClerc does too, but in an entirely different context (evidently, also blows ifyoucatchmydrift). Tasteless jokes aside, there will be a grand rally (grand manifestation en francais) at the Legislature on Tuesday, the 18th."

Is Peterson implying that being homosexual, or engaging in homosexual acts is a tasteless joke?

It's ironic how the left will pretend to defend the rights of gay men and women, but when they apply the label to a conservative, it's meant as an insult. Talk about a double standard.

What does NDP VP Kent E. Peterson have against homosexuals? Why does he think they are a tasteless joke?

Come now, come now, it was a reference to his long-winded nature. With him being absent from the Legislature, I understand how that could be lost on you. Silly Sask. Party caucus staff. Get to work, now.

Ooh, that was a terribly awkward stumble. "Evidently also blows" being a tasteless joke and some how you think you can get away with claiming it was a reference to his being long winded? HA!

That being said, it's just an indication of stupidity, not a double standard for homosexuals. Pro gay rights advocates regularly poke fun at, condemn or otherwise ridicule secretly homosexual or bisexual legislators who have a demonstrated agenda of punishing homosexuals for being who they are and they're right to do it. There's almost nothing juicier in the world of politics than a homosexual hypocrite seeking to condemn people who are like them so long as they don't get found out to be "one of them" themselves.

Peterson stumbled and he has to make up for it some how. But no, this isn't an indication of a double standard no matter how desperately you want to see it as one.
